Flooring and resale...

When most people select new flooring for their home they probably aren't thinking too much about how the choice would affect resale, but since flooring is one great way to add value to your home, it is something you should consider.  Many people try to go the safe route with an unstained oak or pine.  While this choice will look nice in most homes it just doesn't have the "wow" factor.  With all the choices out today- there is something for everyone.  You can go rustic, hand-scraped, exotics, brushed, etc.-some of these are more of a "risk" than others- but selecting something in warm brown or red tones can create an instant impression to guests of your home and more importantly potential buyers.

Come in today and check out our selection of hardwoods and exotics that say "wow"!  Also check us out on YouTube.

Exotic Hardwood

Today I quoted a customer for some Bolivian Rosewood 3" what was interesting about this was the realization by myself and the customer of how many different names this one product uses within the industry. I found a product called Sirari which is also a name for Bolivian Rosewood and then found others. So, be aware that many times a product in the exotic category can have many names. Also, wood comes in different grades so ask which grade you are getting. They are from top to bottom: Clear, Select, #1 Common and #2 Common. Many mills will mix the products to make a "Select and Better" product or a mix of Clear and Select. By mixing grades they can often get their pricing down to a more palatable price while keeping the look rich. Fall Decking

I have been getting quite a few calls from people thinking about doing their deck prior to the onset of winter but concerned about getting it done in time. My advice is to do it NOW and the main reason is price. Right now most companies like www.decking-outlet.com and www.stonewoodoutlet.com are trying to liquidate inventory prior to winter. This is creating awesome opportunities to buy decking for up to 50% off the normal list pricing. So, consider Cumaru 1x6 decking which sold this summer for $2.99 and is now as low as $1.99!
